HARRIERS endured a defeat in the Bank Holiday heat as they went down 2-0 at Brackley Town.
The home side, unbeaten so far this term, had the better of the game and lead at half time thanks to a goal from Lee Ndlovu - his clever header beating Brandon Hall from a free-kick.
Andre Brown's chance near the end of the break was as close as the injury-hit visitors - without Dan Bradley, Joe Ironside and Joel Taylor - came as he sent a header just wide of the target - before which Daly's timely interception prevented a second.
Although Harriers did begin the second half more brightly, their momentum never translated to clear-cut chances.
In the end, on the break, Brackley put the game beyond doubt via the head of James Armson as he stooped inside the area to send a looping, dropping header past Hall and into the far corner.

The action continues to come thick and fast over the Bank Holiday weekend as Harriers travel to Brackley Town on Monday.
The Saints are one of the division’s early pace-setters with five wins from five going into the weekend.
They’re undefeated after Saturday’s set of games, too; while Harriers were picking up three points against Alfreton, they secured a solid share of the spoils in a goalless draw against Chorley.
Now it’s down to Harriers to keep a stop on that momentum and, looking ahead to the game, Matt Gardiner knows exactly how tough a prospect that is.
Town finished last season as one of the form teams in the division and, with a few more games, would easily have ended up in the play-off shake-up.
Gardiner reflected: “They are a good team and they’ve got a lot of experienced payers – I could name you their eleven now.
“Their manager has done very well with the way he has built it up.
“They’ll be very organised and I am not surprised by their start.
“We know they’ll be strong and we’ll have to be very good on the day to get something out of the game.”
Harriers will assess the fitness of Joel Taylor ahead of the game.
The former Stoke City man was withdrawn part way through the 2-1 win over Alfreton, Gardiner adding that it was more of a precautionary measure.
Brackley’s ranks, meanwhile, include two former Harriers players as part of their summer recruitment in the form of Danny Lewis and midfielder Jack Byrne.
The hosts are asking that any Harriers supporters travelling by car be minded to park considerately, using only the club car park or alternatives around the Town Hall which is a short walk from the ground in the Town Centre.
Kick-off on Bank Holiday Monday is at 3:00pm.
