John Eustace on Aston Villa performance….

Manager John Eustace was happy to see his players playing with a little more expression in Wednesday’s defeat to Aston Villa at Aggborough.

The Championship big boys came away with a 3-0 win but in truth Harriers were always in the game and perhaps should have made a dent in the score line.

Looking back at the game, the second in two nights against Championship opposition, Eustace said: “I was delighted with the performance.

“…they certainly went out and expressed themselves and that’s great.”  John Eustace

“In the second half we had eight or nine trialists and they expressed themselves and were great.

“In the first half, with the tempo we played at, I couldn’t be happier.

“Aston Villa are one of the best teams in the Championship and it’s a great experience for our boys to go out and play.”

The boss added: “We’re two and a half weeks in now and they had a tough game against Derby on Tuesday.

“I think they were a bit annoyed with their performance against Derby– they certainly went out and expressed themselves and that’s great.”
