All change for Ladies

Keep up to date with the Ladies…

New Harriers Ladies boss James Astle

It has been all change for Harriers Ladies over the course of a crazy few months as they adjust to life in a new division, a brand new team and a new manager!

Harriers Ladies won promotion from the Midwest Counties Female Football League as part of a league and cup double last term.

The club then looked to expand by introducing ‘Development’ side that played in that division, with the first team moving to the West Midlands Regional League.

There has been a reshuffle in the dugouts of both teams this season, too.

The first team has a new manager in the shape of James Astle, a former boss of Wolves Ladies. During his time at Molineux he won various Cups and promotions, guiding the team to the Premier League. He was also the head of their Women’s Centre of Excellence.

He watched on as the Ladies lost 3-1 to Gornal on Sunday at COSE.

Meanwhile, Ladies goalkeeper coach Steve Morris has been in caretaker charge of the Development side and oversaw their very competitive 1-1 home draw against Welland at the weekend.
