MANAGER John Eustace was happy to see his side follow-up Saturday’s performance at York with the 4-0 win over North Ferriby United.

Harriers won plenty of plaudits for their showing at Bootham Crescent at the weekend were tasked with matching that days later against a struggling United side.

They managed it in impressive style, too, with four first half goals enough to pick up three points and a much-needed clean sheet.

Speaking after the game, Eustace commented: “I’m delighted; in the first half we were very good.

“The lads put in such a big effort at York on Saturday and it was going to be a tough game tonight.

“We were really at it and won the game in that first half.

“We were electric; we scored four great goals and it could have been more.

“In the second half it was a different game and they made it very difficult for us and could easily have got one on the break.

“But the back four were fantastic, as they were on Saturday, and deserved their clean sheet.”

There was praise also for Elton Ngwatala after the Frenchman’s influential showing.

He netted one goal and supplied the ammunition for two as the hosts put the game to bed.

“He’s getting fitter and fitter,” added Eustace.

“He missed a lot of pre-season and time last season with his shoulder, so it has taken a long time to get him fit.

“But you can see he is a top player at this level and he was magnificent in the first half today.”
