John Eustace and Emmanuel Sonupé heralded Elton Ngwatala’s wonder-strike in the 1-1 draw with Spennymoor on Tuesday night.
The Frenchman netted a superb opener for Harriers at Harrogate Town’s stadium, a blistering 30-yard strike with little backlift, that crashed in off the underside of the bar.
While the style of such a goal coming from the boot of the playmaker comes as no surprise, both the player’s manager and team mate were quick to praise the effort.
“It was a fantastic goal and I am delighted for Elton,” commented the gaffer.
“He works ever so hard on his finishing and hopefully it is the right time of the season to start putting a few away!”
Sonupé added: “It came to him and I just said ‘shoot!’ as I was literally right next to him.
“He’s just let it go and it’s crossbar and in – it was a beautiful goal!
“He does it a lot and is always hitting the woodwork but, luckily, tonight it went in.”
