The National League AGM took place over the weekend, with numerous announcements being made ahead of the upcoming 2018/19 season.
The first announcement from the AGM was the extension of Vanarama’s title extension with the competition, alongside a new three year broadcast deal being announced with BT Sport.
Additionally, Sutton United and Boreham Wood were confirmed to be featuring in the IRN BRU cup during the 2018/19 season.
A competition made up primarily of Scottish clubs,the IRN BRU Cup will contain a total of six clubs from England, Northern Ireland and Wales during the upcoming season.
The evening also hosted a Gala Awards evening, with all six promoted clubs from across all three National League divisions collected their trophies.
John Askey (Macclesfield Town); Anthony Johnson and Bernard Morley (Salford City), and Lee Bradbury (Havant & Waterlooville) also picked up Manager of the Year awards.
The evening also gave an opportunity to award the Volunteer of the Year, a new award created to recognise unsung heroes helping clubs within the National League pyramid, and was won by Sutton United’s Tony Henderson-Smith.
Awards were also presented to Torquay United, Brackley Town and St. Albans City for their efforts towards fair play and respect, and Eastbourne Borough won The National League Trust’s Best Community Project award.
