NEIL MacFarlane was happy to see his Harriers players meet the challenge of an Aston Villa side at Aggborough on Saturday.
An entertaining first half saw Harriers go 1-0 up against the Championship side before Villa equalised.
A younger group featuring Academy and U23 players alongside first-teamers and trialists held the visitors at bay and had their own chances to win the game.

Both groups left their manager happy as he discussed the game on our YouTube channel shortly after the final whistle.
“I’m very pleased and I’ve told the group that in the dressing room,” he said.
“I could see the work we’ve been doing every single day on the training ground starting to come to fruition.
“It’s early, but it’s a really good step in our pre-season programme.
“In and out of possession we were really aggressive, made a number of chances and scored a great goal from a really well-worked free-kick.
“I thought both groups handled the whole 90 minutes really well.”
