Ladies record maiden FA Cup win

Ladies win in SSE Women’s FA Cup…

Harriers Ladies recorded a  victory in their first ever FA Cup match on Sunday, with a win against AFC Telford United Ladies.

The Preliminary Round match was due to take place on 26th August at the New Bucks Head, but the playing surface was waterlogged, leading to a postponement to the following Sunday.

Harriers got off to a good start, as after 15 minutes the ball was played through to Amber Lawrence, who made no mistake in front of goal to make it 1-0.

Amie Savva doubled the Harriers lead on the stroke of half time, beating an offside trap and firing into the roof of the net from a tight angle.

A goal less second half meant that Harriers would progress to face Hereford Lads Club Ladies away from home in the First Round Qualifying on Sunday 9th September.
