Harriers launch eSports team!

Harriers venture into eSports…

Harriers are excited to announce the launch of our new eSports team, Harriers eSports.

The team is founded as a result of a merger with Emrys eSports, who are an already well established eSports team which was set up two years ago by Harriers fan, Steven Cook.

eSports is a form of competitive video gaming, with players or teams taking part in regular tournaments against opponents from across the world.

“…I’m delighted that we’re able to be at the front of the queue where this is concerned and again be innovators…” Colin Gordon

Currently, Emrys eSports has a range of teams competing in competitive tournaments across a range of games including CS:GO, Rocket League, Tekken and FIFA.

As part of the merger, all players and staff from Emrys eSports will now operate as part of Harriers eSports.

On the merger, new Harriers eSports Team Manager Cook said: “Emrys eSports has come a long way in less than two years from our beginnings as a single Paragon team, to now having a range of teams with 25 players and staff members from across Europe.

“Being a lifelong Harriers fan, I’m delighted to be working with the club on this exciting new partnership with the aim of growing Harriers eSports into a significant player in the eSports industry”.

Harriers chairman Colin Gordon said: “This is a project I’ve been keen on for a very long time now and I’m delighted that we’re able to be at the front of the queue where this is concerned and again be innovators.

“We’ve struck up a great partnership with a great, forward-thinking guy in Steven and it’s one we’re very excited about.

“We want to involve some of the stars of the future in the eSports world and are already having initial conversations about ways we can implement this into our education business, so would advise anyone interested in shaping an eSports career with us to watch this space.”
