Ladies win against Rugby

Harriers Ladies return to winning ways…

Sophie Richards

Harriers Ladies got back to winning ways on Sunday with a 4-0 league victory over Rugby Town.

Rugby made the match difficult by slowing down the tempo, and had a big chance early on – goalkeeper Hannah Tromans doing brilliantly to tip the ball onto the bar, but it was Harriers who would eventually break the deadlock – Sophie Richards finishing from close range.

Richards then grabbed her second, and a Harriers third came through Amber Lawrence, who finished from the edge of the box to give her team a comfortable lead.

The second half was, all told, very quiet – Chanelle Mason’s scoarcher from 30 yards being a bright spot to make it 4-0, which is how the match finished.

Next up for the Ladies is an away trip to Droitwich Spa in the West Midland’s Regional Football League Division One South on 17th March.
