Harriers Ladies picked up another victory on Sunday in their penultimate game of the season, winning 5-0 against Droitwich Spa.

With two cup wins and runners up spot in the league guaranteed, the Ladies headed into the final two games looking to end the league season on a high.

Harriers travelled the short distance to Droitwich with numerous absentees, so manager James Astle made a number of changes – his team started brightly, though, and were soon 1-0 up after a fine run into the box by Hannah Ashman, who finished into the far corner – her first goal for the club since her move from Lye Town.

Droitwich battled and defended well but most of the first half, Harriers were in control, but couldn’t add to the scoreline before the break.

A couple of subs were made at half time with regular starters Kirsty Roberts and Sophie Richards brought on, and it didn’t take long for Roberts to open her account to double Harriers’ lead.

A third was scored with a great strike from Amber Quick, giving the keeper no chance; and Kirsty Roberts doubled her total before Amy Plimmer netted the fifth to seal the game and a 5-0 victory.

The Ladies now have one game left as they travel to face Rugby Town in the league on Sunday 19th May, a 2pm kick off.
