New face in time for Christmas...

Harriers have wrapped up a Christmas Eve signing with the addition of promising defender Sam Smith after his departure from Stourbridge.

24 year-old Sam left the Glassboys after the best part of four years there – a spell in which he was instrumental in their two memorable FA Cup runs and their fine Southern League form.

The tall centre half has penned non-contract terms and goes into the squad for the game at Hereford United on Boxing Day.

“Sam is a free agent, much like Sean Clancy was and he is a lad we’ve watched quite a bit over at Stourbridge over the last couple of seasons.

“He’s been training with us and looks very strong – he’ll be a good addition to us and we’ll look forward to seeing how things develop.”

Burr added that the new addition is a timely boost as fellow defender Josh Gowling is rated as ‘doubtful’ as of now for the Boxing Day clash with a thigh injury picked up against Dartford – Mike Williams also staking a claim of his own by climbing off the bench to replace him and add one of the five goals.
