Assistant boss Gary Whild

Gary takes the helm 'til the season's end...

Harriers are thrilled to be able to confirm that Gary Whild is to assume the post of Manager of the club until the end of the season.

Gary has been an integral part of the club’s progress since first taking up post as Assistant Manager in 2010 when he linked up with former boss Steve Burr.

Responsible for recruiting a large number of the club’s strongest previous and current talent, he has exceptional knowledge of the local football scene and a crucial understanding of non-league football.

Having continued to work with the club since Burr’s departure earlier in 2014, Gary will take the role as Manager immediately with Chairman Ken Rae telling “Gary knows the club, its players and the supporters.

“His record here, working with Steve, is very strong and I know how hard he has worked to bring players here who’ve been extremely successful.

“We have agreed to take things until the end of the season and to then look at the situation again but I am confident that Gary and his backroom staff can help bring some confidence back into the team and give supporters a lift.

“With 13 games left and in the position we’re in our aim is still to get ourselves into the play-offs and I would urge every Kidderminster Harriers supporter in and around the town to come and support Gary and the players in achieving that.

“There is a big game to be played at Wrexham on Saturday but I’d love to see a big crowd here at Aggborough against Macclesfield next Tuesday.”
