Attention turns to this weekend...
JAMES McQuilkin was happy with Harriers second half showing at Altrincham after three goals put the Robins to the sword.
Winger McQuilkin struck his eighth goal of the season to give the team an early lead.
But all things were equal come the break as the home side fought back.
Speaking after the game, the lively playmaker admitted that the players benefited from some stern words at the interval.
That set the tone for a more impressive second half, with goals coming from Joe Ironside, Andre Brown and Manny Sonupe enough to wrap up a 4-1 win.
McQuikin explained: “In the first half we weren’t happy with our performance and in the second half we managed to up it and the goals came.
“We know we can play better than we did in the first half and in the second half I thought we showed we can do better and managed to win the game comfortably in the end.
“The manager got into us a little bit at half time which we knew was coming – he wanted us to up the tempo and we knew if we did that, Altrincham wouldn’t be able to stay with us in the end.”
Harriers have their place in the play-offs secured thanks to the win at Moss Lane.
There’s still plenty to be decided, though, with home advantage still to be decided.
“We just take each game as it comes really, it’s a tough league,” added the former Walsall man, ahead of this weekend’s trip to Gainsborough Trinity.
“We’ll go to Gainsborough and be competitive and we know they will make it difficult for us – we look forward to the challenge.”
