THE KHFC Universe experienced an explosion of optimism following the double signing made last week, including the return to the club of Chris McPhee.
The ex-Weymouth man penned a new two-year deal at the club [story here] and naturally Harriers fans are delighted - so much so that the Commercial Office at Aggborough was almost immediately flooded with phone calls regarding Player Sponsorship for Chris.
Now each and every year, should a player retain his place in the Harriers squad, his incumbent sponsor is always given first refusal to take up sponsorship for the next campaign.
But such as been the interest from fans to sponsor McPhee, his sponsor from last year, Karl Rose, has happily agreed to take part in a special one-off auction, as Commercial Manager Helen Macdonald Helen Macdonald explains:
"We had a lot of calls about Chris as soon as it was confirmed he's signed, it's fair to say a lot of people wanted the chance to sponsor him next season. It made sense to think of something that could involve them all, as well as being a little bit of fun as well.
"We put the concept of an auction to his sponsor from last season and he's very graciously agreed to let us run with the idea.
"KHIST, who played a big part in the deal to bring Chris back on board, were also very interested in sponsoring him but they too support the idea."
