Fans Ready for Warm-Up Event
The Kidderminster Harriers (KHIST) Supporters Football Team will be preparing for another season by travelling up to Leeds University at the weekend to compete in a two day supporters tournament for the first time.
The annual event has been welcoming supporter's teams from throughout Britain and Europe since 1996 and is the largest of its kind. This year 64 teams will compete for the World Net Cup which was won last year by RC Lens of France.
The aim of the event is to bring rival supporters together for a weekend of fun and football and to build bridges with opposing fans.
The tournament will be an excellent way for the Harriers side to meet opponents they wouldn't normally meet during the Conference season and it will be a great chance to make new acquaintances with some of the 34 teams they have met before.
The Harriers will be competing in the group stages on Saturday against Ipswich Town, Dundee United, Milwall and a friendly game against old friends AFC Halifax in 11 a side games each lasting 30 minutes.
On Sunday Harriers will then go on to compete in either the Cup or Plate knockout tournaments, depending on group position, where they could either meet the likes of Celtic, Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal or West Brom.
The tournament will kick off the eighth season for the Harriers supporters' team and for more information on the team or event you can go to the website at
