Peterborough United Supporters Team 3-4 Kidderminster Harriers Supporters (KHIST)
The Kidderminster Harriers Supporters Team (KHIST) triumphed in a thrilling game at the weekend against Peterborough United's Supporters Team, edging through 4-3 before Harriers' FA Cup victory at King's Lynn.
Harriers' welcomed back Adam Matthews, Tom Sharland and Dave Williams who recovered from injuries into the squad that drew with Kettering's Fans last week, and after a slow start against a physical Peterborough side, Dave Greaves gave the visitors the lead as he finished neatly from a through ball.
Two quick goals from the hosts though changed the game before half-time, and when the Posh poached a third early in the second period from a corner, it looked as though the honours would be staying with the League One side's fans.
But when Greaves pulled one back to make it 3-2 the comeback was on, and with Harriers piling on the pressure, some good work from the striker in the box saw him beat the impressive Posh 'keeper for a third time and seal his hat-trick.
With the game now evenly poised, a break on the left-side from midfielder Sean Merryweather saw him cross the ball for player-manager Dave Pountney to slot home from close range to give Harriers the lead.
Some resolute defending from the visitors in the final few minutes protected the lead for the Harriers, as they recorded their third win on the road this season.
The KHIST side face another tough test next week as they entertain Shrewsbury Town's Supporters before Harriers' Blue Square Premier clash with Grays Athletic.
