FANS: Boro 3-2 Harriers

Posted on: Mon 07 Dec 2009

The Harriers (KHIST) Fans' Team suffered their second defeat on the bounce at the weekend as they went down by the odd goal in five at Stevenage.

Stevenage went one up with 20 minutes on the clock with a long range effort but were pegged back moments before half time when Lewis Pountney's speculative cross caught out the home keeper to bring the honours even.

The visitors made a better fight of it in the second half but poor defending left Stevenage's winger free on the back post to nod the hosts in front and soon after the hosts completed their scoring from the penalty spot when skipper Ollie Sewell tripped his man in the area.

Ben Grazier did pull one back for Kiddy but it wasn't enough to prevent Stevenage claiming three IFA points.

It was a disappointing display from the 13 man travelling squad who were once again slow starting out of the blocks and in reality were second best all over the park. The effort could not be questioned as every player gave 100% but it wasn't to be and the fans team left Hertfordshire empty handed.

Team - Dave Ackerley, Richard Millington, Ollie Sewell, Lewis Pountney, Ben Grazier, Andrew Coffield, Tom Hudson, Dave Williams, Mike Peplow, Nathan Fox, Mark Young, Mark Connolly and Wayne Allen.

Scorer - Lewis Pountney and Ben Grazier

Man of the Match - Ollie Sewell
