CHAIRMAN: No Mass Exits

Posted on: Wed 06 Jan 2010

Chairman Barry Norgrove has assured Harriers fans that there will be no mass January exit from Aggborough to Cheltenham Town - or anywhere else for that matter.

Peterborough United recalled Danny Andrew from a loan spell at Aggborough yesterday, with a view to sending him to Cheltenham where he will again link up with Mark Yates, who signed him as Harriers manager in October.

Norgrove was quick to point out that there was little the club could do about this - Andrew, afte rall, a Peterborough player. But he did warn that the youngster will certainly not be the first of many.

He confirmed to harriers.co.uk today that the club placed into the deal that saw the ex-Harriers boss move to Cheltenham last month, an agreement whereby Yates would not persue Kidderminster players under contract.

"The young lad from Peterborough isn't our player so that's not really something we had a say in," he said.

"But we reached an agreement with Mark when he left us that he wouldn't come after the players who are under contract here.

"In terms of departures, we aren't looking at doing anything at all at the moment in terms of transfers."

Norgrove added that the heavy snow in Kidderminster and beyond today could put paid to tonight's planned board meeting at Aggborough Stadium as the process to recruit a new manager continues.

"You can't really be sure at the moment  because some areas haven't been hit as badly," he added.

"But unless it lets up a bit and the gritters get out, it's going to be hard for everyone to come in because we aren't all on the doorstep,

"But we'll see where we go, we have to play it by ear for now."

Norgrove, who is still waiting for contact from Kettering Town as he hopes to extend Damian Spencer's deal for a further month at Aggborough, confirmed the club will "hopefully" have a new boss in the hot-set by the end of next week.
