Midfielder will begin the first of a three-match suspension against Torquay on Saturday, with the club unable to challenge the red card he received against Droylsden.
The former Nottingham Forest youngster was shown a straight red card for serious foul play - a challenge on Ged Murphy - in midweek, just over ten minutes after coming on as a substitute.
Many around the club felt the decision was perhaps harsh, but after a video replay failed to show a conclusive view of the incident, the club are unable to ask referee Simon Hooper to re-consider his decision.
"Gavin hasn't been in the team for the last couple of games but you always know what you're going to get from him, so he'll be missed," Mark Yates told harriers.co.uk.
"Unfortunately the video is inconclusive so Gavin has got to sit out the three games and we'll have to go on without him."
Hurren will therefore miss the games against Torquay, Salisbury and Northwich but will again be available when Crawley Town visit Aggborough on October 6.
