Harriers Ready for Double Header
Mark Yates and his Kidderminster Harriers' squad are gearing up for a key Bank Holiday weekend that could kick-start their season, starting with the visit of Altrincham on Saturday.
Graham Heathcote's side travel to Worcestershire this weekend, before Harriers make their way to the Pirelli Stadium to meet Nigel Clough's Burton Albion on Bank Holiday Monday.
And after spending all of this week on the training ground working on putting right aspects of the side's games following defeats to Cambridge United and Mansfield, boss Yates has admitted he's relishing the double-header.
"It's good to be honest, I'm delighted," he said today.
"This week has seemed a long one, but it's been good on the training ground.
"We've worked hard on one or two specifics and come Saturday the lads will be ready to go.
"Then, hopefully with a result inside us at the weekend we can move on to Burton and upset another team."
Yates has continued to sound warnings of caution though - early-season results in the Blue Square Premier have shown that any side is capable of beating any other, and Harriers will need to be on top of their game if they're to get a maximum return of points.
"Every game is a winnable game but you can also get beaten in every game.
"We have nothing to fear, though - it's about us.
"I think we're capable of taking six points from the two games."
He however added "It has to be on the back of a win on Saturday, that's the one where we've got to spark ourselves into life and ultimately get a result."
