Boss Mark Yates has told the official website of his delight at securing the services of Lee Baker and Keith Lowe on longer-term deals.

Defender Baker, on loan from Premiership side West Bromwich Albion, had his deal extended until January 4 after featuring in four of Harriers' first six games of the season.

Lowe meanwhile inked a contract that will keep him at Aggborough until the end of the current campaign, having featured in both pre-season and league fixtures.

Speaking to harriers.co.uk today, Yates revealed his satisfaction with his deadline day dealings.

"I'm delighted - Keith has come in and been great for us, we know what he's about," he said.

"He's a big, big addition to the squad - he enjoyed pre-season with us and even though he had other options he's come to us and these things happen in football, we're really pleased to have him on board.

"Lee is a cracking player and a great lad and we were really happy to keep him - what's even better is that he is only going to improve for us.

"He's done ever so well so far but after so long out with his injury last season it's natural that we'll see even more from him after six or eight games."

The Harriers' Board released extra funds in order for Yates to complete the deal to keep Lowe at Aggborough, and the boss was quick to show his gratitude.

Yates admitted that there could yet be one face leaving the club on a temporary basis in order to even things up.

"There are one or two players who are unhappy about not being in the team but I'd expect that of course.

"We may allow one to go out on loan but we'll wait and see.

"The Chairman has got to take a lot of credit because everyone knows the situation, the budget is tight but he's allowed to bring Keith in and I think we can all see the difference he makes to us.

"It's my job to get in the best possible players for as little as possible and we have a budget to keep to but to be fair to the Chairman he's allowed me to go a little bit over, and I thank him for that."
