Summer signing Lee Vaughan is targeting promotion with Kidderminster Harriers this term - and he is confident his new Aggborough team mates can back him in pushing the Blue Square Bet Premier's big boys all the way.
Highly-rated full-back Vaughan was one of boss Steve Burr's very first additions in the closed-season, penning a two-year contract at the club on the back of several seasons challenging for honours at AFC Telford.
The 23 year-old is confident that this trend will not come to an end now he's shifted up into the top-tier oft the non-league game, and he has warned that the big hitters in the League will not enjoy an easy ride of it at the expense of the men from Aggborough.
What Harriers may lack in financial clout, for instance, in comparison to some sides - they'll more than make up for when it comes to 11 v 11 on the pitch.
Speaking to harriers.co.uk, he commented: "Just from talking to Steve and having known him through the England set-up, I know we aren't going to be a team that just rolls over for some of the bigger teams in this division.
"I'm just looking forward to it and we're going to give it a real go because you just never know what happens in football.
"If you have commitment and passion, then that is half of the battle most of the time.
"I think it is a bonus that one or two of the lads we have got in don't know too much about the [Blue Square Bet Premier] - because we'll be going into every single game wanting to prove ourselves and wanting to win.
"That is a great thing. If you can go out there and be wholeheartedly committed, you'll have what the manager is looking for and I don't think we'll have a problem there.
"There are some good players here already and that passion is all that is needed."
Vaughan faces a longer wait for the start of the new term than most here at Aggborough, thanks to a four-match suspension still to be served for offences racked up last season.
The player himself adds he'll need to 'grow up' from here on in when it comes to his disciplinary record - but it is clear that this will not be at the expense of his enthusiasm for the game.
He goes on to re-iterate that he wants to win - and that he's come to Worcestershire to do just that.
"I want to enjoy my football and win games and I see no reason why we can't be doing that at Kidderminster," he adds.
"I would not have signed here for two years if I didn't think we were going to do that and that we would just settle for mid-table - we can push on.
"I can't wait to get going now - the summer has dragged on a bit really but there's just a couple of weeks left and then we get started."
