Defender Michael Briscoe is determined for Harriers to bounce back from the disappointment of Saturday's heavy defeat at Newport with a home win against Tamworth on Bank Holiday Monday.
Briscoe was wholly committed to the cause at the Newport Stadium - two goal-line clearances, one tremendous block and some blood shed summing up his afternoon - but he was left thoroughly deflated at the final whistle.
He offered no excuses for the defeat - admitting that the home side were simply the better team. Instead, he's eyeing up the response from the squad, ahead of the game against his former employers in less than 48 hours time.
"The lads are unhappy and we're disheartened but, like the gaffer has said, we've got to get up and do well on Monday," he commented.
"Tamworth beat Luton today so they'll be on a high but we have to get going and get a victory.
"When you lose a result you have to make sure its right in the next game so I'm looking for three points, a good performance from the lad sand hopefully myself.
"We have to battle on Monday - its an important game for us, not just because it's Tamworth but we just need to start winning at home and pick up three points."
Briscoe's call for a home is, he admits, for the Harriers faithful more than anyone else.
Steve Burr's men were once again backed superbly with around 150 making the trip to Wales - the defender now wants to reward them.
"The fans deserve it more than anything - look at them again," he stated.
"They turned out in their numbers and I just feel sorry for them because we put in a performance like that when they've travelled all this way.
"We didn't repay them but hopefully they'll stick with us, get behind us on Monday and we'll reward them."
