Blue Square Premier side York City have parted company with boss Billy McEwan.

The Minstermen had secured a fantastic fourth-placed finish under McEwan, a former Derby coach, last season but have struggled this term.

Losing striker Clayton Donaldson to Hibs in the summer was a huge blow with City seemingly unable to re-produce their form from last time around.

Results in the league had improved over the course of the last several weeks but, following defeat by Salisbury at the weekend, York have chosen to take a 'fresh approach' to the remainder of the season.
