BSP News: Halifax Fate Decided
Posted on: Sat 17 May 2008
Halifax Town FC and the consortium trying to rescue the club have been informed by Conference chiefs that the Yorkshire-based side will not be playing in the Blue Square Premier next season.
The Shaymen have been informed that they will have to ply their trade in the Northern Premier League Division One North next season.
Conference general manager Dennis Strudwick said: "We feel that Halifax do not qualify."
Should the club be reformed, they would need to seek approval from the Football Association and only then would they be allocated a league to play in.
League manager for the FA, Mike Appleby, said: "We will accommodate Halifax. We are not going to let football die in Halifax."
