ROCK-Bottom Tamworth have today parted company with their Manager Mark Cooper and Assistant Richard Dryden.

The Lambs had started the season relatively well but have failed to win the Football Conference since the middle of November.

A statement on the official Tamworth website from General Manager Russell Moore read: This [decision] follows concern over the league form and the position the club finds itself in. The board felt fresh impetus was needed.

The club would like to place on record its gratitude for the hard work and commitment shown by Mark and Richard during their tenure, and it goes without saying that we wish them well for the future."

Tamworth were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Welling in the FA Carlsberg Trophy last night, with former Harrier Simon Heslop on target for the hosts.

Another ex-Aggborough man in Adie Smith will take charge at the club on a temporary basis along with Dale Belford.
