Mansfield v Harriers - Match Preview
Boss Mark Yates is calling on his players to keep chipping away at the new Blue Square Premier season as they continue their search for a first win of the campaign.
Harriers began the season less than a week ago with a home draw against Lewes, before going down to a 2-1 defeat at Cambridge United in midweek.
Picking up a win at the third attempt won't be an easy task - as tomorrow the boys travel to a Mansfield Town side buzzing from a fine start to the campaign.
The Stags - relegated from League Two last term - are under the management of ex-York boss Billy McEwan and followed up a useful draw at FA Trophy winners Ebbsfleet on Saturday by beating Histon at Field Mill on Tuesday night.
Despite the differing starts to the campaign, there's little sign that Harriers are even close to pushing the panic button, with Yates encouraging his squad to keep on doing what they're doing.
Previewing the game, he said: "Although we haven't picked up as many points as we would have liked, we're not panicking.
"We're going to continue working hard and we'll be trying to get things right on Saturday.
"Mansfield have signed some decent players and we know it's going to be a difficult game.
"Their front-men will be a handful and Michael Blackwood and Gavin Hurren will have a point to prove but we can't be worrying about them.
"We'll try and keep doing what we're doing because we aren't doing too badly, we're working hard to eliminate mistakes and we just need that first win - there's no better time than Saturday."
Harriers remain hopeful that Lee Baker will be fit to play tomorrow. The West Bromwich Albion loanee's knee was badly swollen after the Lewes game, resulting in his absence from Tuesday night's fixture.
Yates added: "His scan at West Brom (story) showed that everything was clear so it's just a lot of swelling we're dealing with at the moment."
Tomorrow's game at Field Mill kicks-off at 3:00pm.
