PREVIEW: Alrtincham v Harriers
The bottom two in the early Blue Square Bet Premier table meet at Moss Lane on Saturday as Harriers travel to Altrincham.
Graham Heathcote's Alty have taken just one point from their six games so far and sit bottom of the pile, whilst Harriers find themselves a single place above after picking up just the one victory on the opening day.
Two sides, then, looking to get back on track and start an upward climb up the standings - Moss Lane is never an easy place to go as Harriers have always discovered, and this weekend's fixture should prove no exception.
But speaking ahead of the game, boss Steve Burr is confident that his side are travelling in good spirits despite their relatively poor form.
"We had a set-back at Newport on Saturday but the lads were ready again for the Tamworth game," the boss told harriers.co.uk.
"We could quite easily have lost that when we went down to ten men and that's the pleasing part - the character that's been shown in the dressing room.
"This week they've been upbeat in training and there is nothing wrong with the atmosphere around the place.
"The players are very positive and they feel themselves that we're not far from kicking on but the sooner we do that the better."
Harriers will definitely be without defender Mark Albrighton on Saturday as he sits out a one-game suspension for his sending off against Tamworth, whilst Marc Williams is away with Wales U21s.
With Tom Sharpe still feeling the effects of a bang to the head at Newport last weekend, new signing Ollie Thorne could go straight into the side at the heart of the defence.
Aman Verma is almost certain to be out after fracturing a bone in his hand, though there is some slightly better news for Burr on two other fronts.
Experienced midfielder John Finnigan is edging closer to fitness after a problem with his calf - he should be back in training by next week.
Winger Callum Gittings, who has missed the last two games through a shin injury, returning to training with the rest of the squad on Thursday and will be assessed ahead of the journey to Altrincham.
The hosts this week announced the departure from the club of striker Dale Johnson, whilst Matt Doughty (cruciate) is still on the road to recovery following surgery last season.
Chris Denham and Robbie Lawton both sat out their 4-0 defeat to Mansfield on Bank Holiday Monday and may be unavailable again to Heathcote tomorrow.
Kick-off at Moss Lane is 3:00pm
