Simon Russell and Dean Bennett have completed new deals at Kidderminster Harriers in time to feature in tomorrow afternoon's Blue Square Premier opener against Lewes.

Boss Mark Yates confirmed to harriers.co.uk this lunchtime that the midfield duo have penned contracts to remain at Aggborough after spending pre-season with the rest of the squad. F

Full details of these deals will be revealed in the near future, but both are available to Yates for the weekend.

Also primed to make appearances for the club tomorrow are Yates' summer signings: Darryl Knights, Luke Jones, Adam Bartlett, Martin Brittain, David McDermott, Martin Riley, Sam Foley, Michael Bowler and Lee Baker.

It's a fully fit squad, too, with physio Peter Dugmore having no injury worries to contend with as the side prepare for the big kick-off.

Harriers are ready to take on a Lewes side ready to make their mark in the division after achieving promotion last term - but having learned from previous mistakes, Yates and his charges are determined to pick up a result of their own tomorrow.

"We don't want a repeat of the St. Albans game where we came unstuck against a newly-promoted side.

"It's been drummed into the lads that Lewes are really going to be up for it and keen to make a good start and come to us and do well.

"We have to make sure we start with the right attitude and with a spring in our step.

"It has to be about us and what we try and do - if we do things properly then we know we can have a good start; we want to get three points tomorrow."

Harriers' action in the transfer market this week has left them with a relatively youthful squad, and that's good news for the boss, who added: "We've got a little bit of experience with Benno who is 30, Justin and then Creighton but below that the average age of the squad has to be one of the lowest in the league.

"They're all very good, talented players who are keen to do well for themselves as well as this club."

Kick-off tomorrow is at 3:00pm. Remember, the Club Shop will be open from 11:30am for supporters to pick up any of the new merchandise including the new home and away shirts.
