A GOAL apiece from surprise recalls John Williams and Sean Parrish were enough to gift Harriers three important points as they beat promotion chasers Yeovil Town on their own patch.

Jan Molby made four changes to the side that disappointed at York last Sunday.  Matt Gadsby, Sam Shilton and Andy White all dropped out of the starting line-up along with Steve Burton who had returned to Hull City.  Graham Ward, John Williams, Sean Parrish and Lee Jenkins - who was making his Harriers debut - replaced the quartet.

In driving wind and rain Harriers had to weather a lot of early pressure from third placed Yeovil.  Kirk Jackson headed wide on 16 minutes and the same man was denied a goal scoring opportunity by Scott Stamps when the Harriers defender blocked his close range effort soon after.

Harriers, playing with the wind behind them, began to find their way back into the game.  Adie Smith headed Danny Williams' corner wide just before the half hour mark whilst Graham Ward and John Williams combined to go close soon after.

However it was Harriers who silenced the vociferous home crowd with the opening goal of the game on the stroke of half-time.  A fine passing move from the visitors saw the ball played out to Gadsby - on as a substitute for Adie Smith - on the right wing.  A superb whipped in cross found John Williams (right) at the far post who slipped the ball into the opposite corner of the goal from close range.  This was John Williams' third goal of the season.

Half-time: Yeovil 0 - 1 Harriers

Torrential rain continued to beat down on the Huish Park pitch as the game looked increasingly unlikely to be completed as both side struggled with the weather conditions.

On 58 minutes Yeovil forced their way back into the game when they drew level.  A long ball from Paul Terry caught Harriers' defence flat-footed leaving Kevin Gall to out-pace his markers before slotting a neat shot past Stuart Brock to equalise for the Conference champions.

The goal forced a positive reaction from Harriers as the game began to open up.  Graham Ward was inches away from scoring his first ever goal for Harriers when he was narrowly beaten to the ball by the Glovers' keeper after John Williams' cross had become stuck in a goalmouth puddle.

Harriers' endeavour was rewarded on 73 minutes when they scored the third and final goal of the game.  A foul on Ward on the edge of the penalty area gifted Harriers with a free-kick.  Wayne Hatswell fired in a low shot which ricochet around the penalty box before John Williams delivered a low cross back into the six yard box where Sean Parrish (right) was on hand to fire the ball over the line to record his third goal of the season.

Both sides created further chances to increase the scoring but to no avail.  Deep into stoppage time Yeovil thought they had nicked an equaliser when Lee Johnson's 25-yard free-kick was parried onto the crossbar by Brock.

However Harriers held out to earn three vital points.  The result sees Harriers move up one place to 19th but, more importantly, Jan Molby's men are now just three points off 12th place.
