First half goals from Russ Penn and Iyseden Christie were enough to earn Harriers three hard earned points at Stevenage Borough in the dress rehearsal for May's FA Trophy Final.
However Harriers valiant efforts were somewhat blighted by over an over zealous referring performance from Mr Cook who showed eight yellow cards during the course of the evening - all of them to Harriers players!
It was Penn put Harriers ahead after 21 minutes when he fired home from just inside the penalty area after the home side failed to clear the danger.
Harriers deservedly doubled their tally just after the half hour mark through Christie. A foul by Mark Hughes on Simon Russell saw the visitors awarded a spot kick, and Harriers' top scorer duly despatched the ball past Alan Julian in the 'Boro goal.
The home side rallied after the interval and pulled a goal back within a minute when Ronnie Henry slotted past Scott Bevan.
Harriers weathered the second half onslaught to hold out for a well deserved victory, Bevan in particular doing well to stop Dobson's shot from a one-on-one just minutes after Borough's goal.
