A TYPICALLY-cheeky Gavin Hurren super-goal wasn't enough to secure Harriers a second consecutive league win at a sunny Wessex Stadium in Weymouth today.

Ever-popular Hurren was brought back into the side after a brief rest with Jonny Harkness missing out and the opportunity was seized in style as Trigger put his side ahead with 12 minutes gone.

Nick Jones, making his first start between the sticks for the Terras may well have to take some of the blame for the strike but equal measures of credit must be given to Hurren and also Simon Russell, who claimed yet another goal assist.

Good work from the former Hull youngster saw him squirm free of two Weymouth players and after playing Hurren through on goal, the pace of the ball obviously deceived Jones who tried to come and collect. He was well and truly caught in no man's land, though, and with him some way off his line HURREN chipped a great effort from at least 30 yards that took a couple of big bounces before settling in the back of the net.

Weymouth's Nick Crittenden is a player who has caused Harriers many problems during his days with the likes of Yeovil and Aldershot and he was the hosts main danger-man today, his well-taken equaliser on 21 minutes was probably just rewards.

James Coutts was also lively for Weymouth and it's no surprise that he too was heavily involved, it was his deadly low cross that penetrated the Harriers' defence to find CRITTENDEN who hit the ball well, first-time, into the roof of Bevan's net.

The hosts probably finished the first-half on top but the second period was a fairly equal, if not thrilling affair. Substitute Constable shot over the bar whilst Russell and Daniel Phillips had efforts at respective ends.

As the clock ran down there were three big chances for a winner, two falling to Yates' men. Crittenden, somewhat predictably was the man at the heart of it for Weymouth as he stung Bevan's hands when it looked certain he'd grab a second, whilst Russell left the crossbar shaking as he thumped the ball at after a Constable effort. Constable, back from a three-match ban could have won it at the death but seemingly got caught in two minds - instead of squaring to Hurren who'd have had a free sight of goal he chose for a shot, or a mix of the two that was far too pacy for his team-mate to collect.
