Two more goals from red-hot striker Iyseden Christie helped Harriers cruise to their first away league win since November 2007 with a thumping 4-0 victory at Crawley Town.
Crawley ironically had the first chance of the night after Jon-Paul Pitman caught-out Chris MacKenzie and Mark Creighton but the Devils' man fired over with the goal at his mercy on five minutes.
Barely a minute later the scoring was opened, with CHRISTIE looking every bit the in-form striker; Ashley Bayes came rushing out his goal to intercept the former Mansfield man after the home defence continued to stand off him, but the striker coolly chipped the ex-Grays stopper with a delightful finish.
Seemingly as quick as a flash it was two - Darryl Knights looks a class act for Harriers and he latched on to Simon Russell's ball before slipping a great through-ball of his own to CHRISTIE who promptly doubled his tally for the night with his 12th goal of the campaign.
The Harriers back-line was kept alert if not too busy, and at the other end the strikers continued their good work on 20 minutes- Mark Creighton and Gavin Hurren combined to set up Matthew BARNES-HOMER who, at the second attempt, blasted home.
The home side tried to force their way back into things and make some good inroads forward, with Thomas Pinault and Danny Bulman forcing excellent saves by Chris MacKenzie, who continues to impress.
After Barnes-Homer put the ball onto the roof of the net from a good position, there was a moment of concern for Harriers as they MacKeznie through injury just over ten minutes before the break; Dean Coleman taking his place.
Harriers have often enough been criticised for not capitalising on mistakes of the opposition - but they were ruthless on 42 as it became 4-0 - excellent work from Knights saw Barnes-Homer have a shot saved by Bayes, the ball falling at the feet of RUSSELL who finished neatly.
The second half was never going to be anything close to the spectacle of the first period - there was little to speak of before the hour mark - but boss Mark Yates did make one change on 54 minutes, Michael McGrath coming on for Russell Penn in the middle of the park.
Creighton was strong in the block as a shot from Tyrone Thompson on 63 was taken care of, and on the counter, Harriers went close as Christie was beaten marginally to the ball by Bradley Thomas after a Knights corner.
With a game at Cambridge coming up in less than 48 hours, Christie was taken off after 69 minutes and replaced by Brian Smikle - the shivering army of 57 Harriers fans rightly saluted the striker as he made way and it was his replacement's header that brought a save from Bayes just after.
The hosts naturally tightened up a little at the back in the second half, but they were matched by the Harriers back-four who remained solid - Creighton and Hurren in particular defending well.
Knights and sub Smikle were full of running late on but were unable to forge an opening that would add to the score line.
* HARRIERS are in action this Saturday as they travel to Cambridge in the Blue Square Premier (3:00pm).
