Kidderminster Harriers tasted defeat in their first away game of the new season, going down 2-1 to Cambridge United at the Trade Recruitment Stadium.
United recorded their first ever home victory over Harriers thanks to a goal in each half from Lee McEvilly.
The first came after 27 minutes, good work and ball in from Mark Beesley forced a good save from Adam Bartlett in the Harriers goal, but his parry only found the home attack and from close-range, McEvilly was never going to miss.
Following the goal Harriers were perhaps the better side and began to relax into things a little more - Simon Russell almost levelled matters just after the half-hour mark but he was denied smartly by Danny Potter between the sticks for Cambridge.
Into the second half, and former U's striker Darryl Knights tested Potter with a long-range effort before the home side doubled their lead on 61 minutes.
The visiting defence was caught completely off-guard by Felimo Jardim's cross, and McEvilly was given a free header from around six yards to power past Bartlett.
Andy Ferrell and Justin Richards kept up the Harriers cause at the other end with a couple of good chances, with David McDermott and Martin Brittain again impressing as substitutes.
The hosts, clearly happy with a two-goal cushion, kept the ball well but Harriers did pull a goal back as the game entered injury time - a corner deceived everyone on its way outside the box to Mark Creighton, who hooked the ball back into the area for RICHARDS to force home his second goal in as many games at the start of this campaign.
