FOLLOWING today's 1-0 win at Rushden, Harriers boss Mark Yates has targeted a best-possible finish from his team ahead of the final four league games of the campaign.

Harriers face two home games - against Aldershot on Tuesday night and Morecambe next weekend - before rounding-off the season at Grays Athletic and Crawley.

Despite the play-offs now being out of sight, Yates is demanding his players still perform to finish the campaign as high as possible in the Conference table.

"If we aren't going to finish in the top five then I want to finish sixth! - Or as close to that as we can get," he said following today's game.

"We always want to keep going forward and we want to finish the season well; I wanted five wins before today - this is one of them and now we've got four big league games to go until a big day at the Trophy Final.

"I want four more games where we perform."

Brian Smikle had a rare start at Nene Park and impressed Yates, who added: "I thought today Brian Smikle was absolutely fantastic - he's been in and out, substitute quite a lot but today he was absolutely fantastic and if I had a lot more like him we'd certainly be okay - the work-rate he puts in and the effort he supplies was fantastic to watch."
