Boss Pleased With New Addition
MARK Yates feels new signing Matthew Barnes-Homer will more than be able to hold his own during his first season as a Kidderminster Harriers' player.
The 21-year old striker penned a one-year deal today and brings further depth to an already impressive strike-force.
Speaking to the official website today, Yates admitted he's been impressed with the player's attitude.
"We've been looking at a number of trialists and we feel Matthew will be a good addition for us," he said.
"He's strong and quick, makes good runs and he's young; he's got a good attitude and we'll be looking to get the best of out of him this season.
"I'm sure he's capable of holding his own - he looks like he can score goals and he's impressed us with his attitude and work-rate."
A small number of trialists still remain at Aggborough and it's though Yates will make a decision on their futures in the very near future.
He continued: "I've spoken to one of the other lads and I think we have something sorted but until it's all done we'll wait and see, and to be fair to the other lads as well."We'll see where we can go as quick as we can and hopefully after the weekend we'll have a clearer picture.
"We just feel that another one or two will give us a really strong squad that can compete with each other for places. All of the trialists have done well but unfortunately we're never going to be able to take all of them on and we'll be looking to make a decision after the weekend."
