Following last night's BSP win at Stafford Rangers, Mark Yates had words of praise for front men James Constable and Justin Richards.

Richards grabbed two of the goals in the 3-1 win at Marston Road including one from the penalty spot.

Constable meanwhile was in the thick of things for most of the night and, in the view of Yates, won't be long in finding the back of the next for the first time this season.

Speaking following last night's game, boss Yates said: "Both James and Justin were excellent.

"They did some very good stuff when the ball got to them but I just thought without the ball they could have worked harder for the team but in the first half we didn't work as a team as hard enough at what we have to do, but in the second half they did it.

"Justin got his rewards and James won't be too far behind - he's a threat whenever he's on the pitch and when you have Matthew Barnes-Homer and Iyseden Christie on the bench waiting to come on you know you have to be.

"James is disappointed he didn't score tonight but it won't be long in coming - his first two performances of the season have been decent."

Yates also revealed that it took some stern words midway through last night's proceedings to buck the performance of the players after a lacklustre first period.

He added: "I was unhappy with the first half because we were unacceptable and if I were Stafford I'd have been disappointed to not be two or three goals ahead.

"But to be fair to the lads a few choice words were said at half time and it was a much better performance in the second half."
