Boss Mark Yates has admitted that whilst he feels it was two points dropped for his side at Farsley last night, Celtic deserved most of the plaudits.

Poor defending saw Harriers behind after only two minutes as a lack of concentration cost dear.

Whilst the visitors rallied in after the break and put in an improved shift in the second 45, pulling a goal back through Russ Penn.

Speaking to harriers.co.uk Yates gave his team credit for responding well to the early set-back but praised Farsley for the test they gave the side.

"Full credit to them, they started very well and made it very difficult for us but we do have to take a bit of credit ourselves for responding and having a go and getting a point," he said.

"I do feel like its two points dropped but you do have to give other teams credit sometimes and even though we weren't at our best, Farsley really tested us.

"We'd set our standards in our previous two games and didn't match them last night and that's the disappointing thing for me, our concentration needs to be better.

"But we gave it our best shot on the night and came away with a point but credit has to go to them."

Earlier today Harriers sent a side down to Birmingham City to face a very strong Blues' side at their training facility.

RUSSELL: 90 minutes at Birmingham City today.

Injury victim Simon Russell got minutes under his belt with the signs good that he has only fitness work to do after overcoming the worst of a thigh problem.

Dean Coleman, Brian Smikle, Paul Bignot, Michael McGrath and Matthew Barnes-Homer were just a few of the others who took part in the game Harriers lost 6-0.

"Steve Bruce and Keith Bertschin contacted us to see if we could play a reserve game as they had one or two players who needed games against a decent opposition.

"We went down there and got very well looked after but took a bit of a drubbing as well!

"But it was a great work-out for the players, the facilities are absolutely fantastic and Birmingham fielded some very good players, some with Champions League experience - it was an excellent work out.

"Simon managed 90 minutes and it's now a case of just getting him fit to challenge for a place in the team as soon as possible."
