On The Right Road, says Boss
Manager Mark Yates admits that Harriers are now on the 'right road' following their third win in four matches against York at Aggborough today.
The hosts were rarely troubled as they secured a comfortable 3-0 victory in the Blue Square Premier.
This coming on the back of wins against Rushden and Exeter and a draw at Farsley, Harriers are starting to put together a decent run of results and performances.
"We started brightly and we worked hard and gave ourselves a platform to build on and some of the intricate stuff we played was excellent," boss Yates told harriers.co.uk, after seeing a Justin Richards brace contribute to the success.
"They threw everything at us but we were comfortable and could and should have won by more really, we're on the right road now, we showed our work-ethic and we played some good stuff.
"Although we didn't win on Tuesday we're four games unbeaten and we just have to kick on now."
The Aggborough chief revealed that it's most likely that Captain Stuart Whitehead will be fit to return to action at Ebbsfleet United next weekend.
Today though, veteran Jeff Kenna put in a sumptuous, vintage performance as a make-shift centre-half that didn't look all that make-shift.
Kenna was named the Harriers supporters' Player of the Month for August prior to this game, and Yates was full of praise for the former Derby man's effort, and the effect it had on defensive partner Mark Creighton.
He added: "I've told him that this could put ten years onto the end of his career and he can keep going until he's 47 if he carries on but I don't think he wants to do that!
"I thought he was outstanding today, Mark Creighton is a far better player when he has someone alongside him who talks him through the game and puts him in better positions and that's what Jeff did today.
"I also thought it nullified the threat of their left-winger who I think is a very good player."

Dean Bennett: Scored against York today...
There was also a note of praise for energetic midfielder Dean Bennett who struck the other goal in today's win with a sweet strike.
"For 75 minutes I thought he was the best player on the pitch by an absolute mile, his energy and his ability and desire was spot on," he commented.
