Yates: Two Points Dropped
FRUSTRATION was the word of the night for Harriers boss Mark Yates after he watched his side fail to pick up maximum points at Northwich this evening.
The draw moved Harriers up into the top ten of the BSP but the win would have cemented sixth place, and the inability to see out tonight's game has left the camp disappointed.
"It was a frustrating night, we threatened at times but that spark and solidity that we had on Saturday just wasn't there tonight," Yates said after the game.
"We let them into the game too much in the second half and we're disappointed with that; in fairness I think they were the better side in the second half.
"It probably explains why we are where we are in the league at the moment but we'll keep working and we'll keep plugging away."
A move of sheer brilliance between the Harriers' front two saw them take the lead, but patchy dominance will rarely win you games.
That's a sentiment echoed by Yates, who admits they didn't take charge of the game quite as they should have - rendering the result two points lost.
He added: "We weren't dominant and we didn't boss the game. Northwich threw everything at us and even though we weren't stretched too many times, it was enough to knock us out of our stride and we didn't settle in the second half.
"They had nothing to lose, they're desperate for that first win and in the end Chris MacKenzie has made two good saves to keep us in the game.
"All of the lads are disappointed we didn't see the game out. They know we didn't perform as well as we can and unfortunately I do see it as two points dropped."
