MARK Yates has criticised his side for throwing away a good first half's work by making things 'all too easy' for Histon yesterday.

Ten-man Harriers went down 2-1 at the Glassworld Stadium, but not before a decent first-half showing had raised hopes that the result could be much different.

The Aggborough chief lamented his team's inability to build on that as Histon went on to claim a comfortable if slender victory.

"We didn't play well in the second half, we didn't do the basic things right and made it all too easy for them and it cost us," he said.

"We didn't stand up to be counted like we needed to - we needed to put in a much more organised performance, we needed the players to stand up and be men and we didn't get that."

"The second goal summed up our second-half performance - everything was too easy for them."

After the signs were so good early on, it's once again a case of the word 'Consistency' rearing its ugly head for Harriers, and Yates went on to hint that changes could be ahead if things don't change.

He added: "All that was lacking was a killer pass and that bit of extra quality in the final third.

"We countered what they do well superbly in the first half but didn't have that extra bit in the final third and didn't get to grips with things after half-time.

"We seem to be doing this all the time - it's one step forward and one step back and that's disappointing. If we have to bring in one or two players to liven us up then that's what we'll do."
