Boss Mark Yates has pointed to the all-important result after watching his side book their place in the next round of the FA Cup, sponsored by E.ON with a 2-0 win at Ware.

With Harriers level at 0-0 and down to ten men following the dismissal of Stuart Whitehead with 20 minutes to go, a replay had looked a strong possibility.

But the visitors closed the game with clinical finishing and professionalism, and whilst it wasn't the prettiest of performances, the win was eventually secured.

Speaking after today's game, Harriers' Chief Yates praised Ryman League side Ware for their efforts at Wodson Park, and admitted he was pleased his players managed to see the game out.

"All credit to Ware; they've given us a right game," he said.

"In the first half they really set about us and we knew we had to be better. The pitch was lively and there was a great atmosphere; they made it a proper Cup tie.

"For 45 minutes we weren't as good as we wanted to be and that was all credit to them.

"But we increased the tempo in the second half and we've seen the game out.

"It's all about the result in the FA Cup and we've got that."

Skipper Whitehead, dismissed for an adjudged professional foul, will now serve a one-match suspension against Woking when they visit Aggborough in the Blue Square Premier next weekend.

Yates revealed he thought the decision was a little unfortunate on the former Shrewsbury man, but wasn't prepared to dwell on the issue.

"I thought it was a bit harsh to be honest - I thought the lad [John Frendo] had fouled him from where I was," he continued.

"Stewie told me he couldn't believe he'd given a free-kick against him and he's put his head in his hands, the referee sort of triggered that as 'what have I done?' sort of thing and sent him off.

"We've just got to get on with it - he'll miss the next game but Trigger has come on and done really well and that sending off probably spurred us on."

So it's Kidderminster Harriers who enter tomorrow's Second Round draw on the BBC, immediately following the live game between Yeovil and Torquay.

When asked for his opinion on who he'd prefer to face on December 1, Yates was typically philosophical.

"We'll take what we can get, I don't care," he added.

"Let's just see who we get and we'll go from there. The Third Round is the one we want to get to but whoever we get, we'll take them seriously and show them the proper respect."
