Manager Proud of Players
Following today's 2-2 draw at York City, Kidderminster Manager Mark Yates was 'proud' of his players for extending their unbeaten run to seven matches.
Harriers had been ahead through Michael McGrath's early goal and Iyseden Christie's close -range second, before two goals in three minutes after the half-hour mark restored parity.
Understandably, Yates and the Harriers camp are predominantly disappointed to have not returned to Worcestershire with all three points, but the boss admitted after the game that his players had given everything.
The Aggborough chief hard words of praise for today's hosts, who remain unbeaten under December's Manager of the Month Colin, Walker.
"We're disappointed that, being 2-0 up away from home, we didn't win the game," said Yates.
"But credit to York - you can see why they're on such a great run; they've got tremendous spirit and some excellent players.
"They threw everything at us. We've got four big players out today, and I'm proud of the boys and the effort they put in - we're disappointed in the dressing room we didn't win but we gave everything."
"It was a great game and that makes it seven [unbeaten] now, and we're progressing on the right lines."
The seven game unbeaten run now gives Harriers the chance to look up the league table towards the play-off places that still remain the aim.
Despite teams above having games in hand over Yates' side, the boss outlined that his troops are enjoying sounding a warning to the rest of the Blue Square Premier.
He added: "We're confident; what we're doing at the moment is letting teams know that we're going to work hard to get whatever points we can.
"If anyone wants to get points off us then they're going to have to work extremely hard.
"That's what it's about first and foremost; some of the passing and movement out there was excellent and we scored two really good goals... the boys have got to take a lot of credit."
