Boss Calls for Shared Responsibility
Mark Yates was left to apologise to Harriers' supporters after he saw his Harriers side put in a disgraceful performance against relegation-threatened Droylsden.
The Bloods had conceded ten goals in their last two games and have the worst goal difference in the division - Paul Phillips could've been forgiven for thinking he'd be in for another busy day at the Butcher's Arms Ground today.
As it was, though, Phillips was all but gift-wrapped a rare clean-sheet from a Harriers side who rarely troubled the home goal.
After tumbling into the bottom half of the Blue Square Premier as a result of the lifeless defeat, Harriers are left to look onwards at what they can salvage from a season that is dangerously close to slipping away.
Boss Yates offered few excuses - as bar new signing Alex Jeannin he had little praise for any of his troops.
He said after the game: "Bar Alex Jeannin, nobody has come out of the game without any credit.
"I'm part of that, too; I'll accept my share of the blame.
"I'm not hiding from the fact that it was a very poor performance, I'll take responsibility for it but I just hope one or two of the players take responsibility for it too.
"There was no spark to us, no energy and that's bitterly disappointing.
"It's unacceptable - I apologise to the supporters who made the trip up here and everyone back at home who expected better."
The January transfer window slams firmly shut for another season next Thursday - Yates confessed that there will be more coming from Aggborough within the next few days.
He added: "We've got to get [players] out and get in, and do bits of wheeling and dealing.
"We aren't going to go out and spend money but things will be happening between now and Thursday, there were always going to be."
