A pleased but cautious Manager Mark Yates has challenged his players to prove that tonight's 6-0 drubbing of Stafford Rangers wasn't a one-off.

Iyseden Christie and Simon Russell both grabbed braces as Harriers romped to victory over their local rivals, but Yates wasn't prepared to get too carried away.

With Grays Athletic to visit Aggborough this coming Saturday, he instead called on his side to reproduce the performance and pick up back to back victories.

Speaking after tonight's game, which also featured goals from Darryl Knights and Matthew Barnes-Homer, Yates said: "We've been on a poor run but the belief has still been there.

"We know we've underachieved but we're not giving up without a fight and we do mean business, and the players have proved that tonight.

"We've got to show people now that it isn't a one-off and that we can do it on a consistent basis.

"Grays will look at this result and come here and make it doubly difficult for us, I'm sure of that.

"The players have got to show the same mentality and the same responsibility, and if they do that we can give anyone a game."

Commenting on the difference between tonight's battling performance and those efforts of recent weeks, Yates added: "More than anything else, they did the horrible bits you have to do in football, and they showed a willingness to want the ball and to be brave in possession."
