Game Was There to Win - Yates
Manager Mark Yates admitted his side should've taken something from last night's league game at Stevenage.
Harriers fell to a 2-1 defeat at Broadhall Way, but had more than enough chances to grab a share of the spoils.
Their preparations weren't helped by the news that Luke Jones had been recalled by Shrewsbury Town just hours before the game.
Town requested that the defender not take part in the game, despite the fact that the terms of the player's loan agreement required 24 hours notice before any recall.
But despite the fact that Jones was already with the Harriers' squad preparing for the game in Hertfordshire, Yates told harriers.co.uk today: "It didn't help, but we did the right thing [in leaving him out.]
"We trained all week and yesterday morning with Jonah in the team and unfortunately we had to change our plans.
"But that's what happens sometimes, we had to move on and it gave Trigger a chance."
A first-half slip from Hurren let Borough take the lead whilst sleepy defending from the visitors let Peter Taylor's men get back in front after Iyseden Christie's equaliser.
"We conceded two sloppy goals and that's what cost us," Yates added.
"It was definitely a game we should've got something out of, we didn't do enough in the first half but in the second we were a lot better, and I thought we were the better team.
"The game was there to win, especially after we scored, but we just let them back into it and we know we can't do that."
The Aggborough boss admitted he'll assess the situation of the squad before looking into the possibility of strengthening before the next league game at Exeter a week tomorrow.
Before then, Harriers travel to local rivals Worcester in the County Senior Cup on Monday (7:45pm)
He continued: "We'll have a look at the situation after Monday night's game and see where we are."
