Neil Howarth said after Saturday's home draw with Histon that luck deserted Harriers as they frantically searched for a winner.

The home side dominated large spells of this game; both after Iyseden Christie had given them the lead and after Danny Wright had pulled the away side level.

But that winning goal remained elusive, and whilst Harriers remain unbeaten in seven, it was a second successive home draw.

"We didn't have that little bit of luck that we needed," said Howarth, after the game.

"After they scored there was five minutes where we weren't at our best but I thought we got back in control of it and looked like we'd go on and score a couple of goals and win it.

"But on the whole, their goalkeeper has had a good game.

"In the second half we had a few bits of quality out wide but we needed more bodies in the box."

Harriers looked to have had a lifeline in the closing minutes after the game but were denied when their appeals for what seemed a stone-walled penalty waved away.

"From where I was sat in the home dug-out it was a definite penalty," added Howarth.

"I think the referee had a good game today but she made a mistake on that one.

"These things happen - referees make mistakes as well as players."

There was an Aggborough debut for defender Michael Wylde today; he made his first full start for Harriers since joining on loan from Cheltenham Town.

With Mark Creighton out with rather painfully-sounding infected blisters, it was down to Wylde to deal with one of the most direct sides in the division - and Howarth was impressed.

"I thought he was excellent, probably faultless," he told harriers.co.uk

"I can't think of any mistakes he made - we know what Histon were going to do, they're strong and physical and it was a big test for him but he stood up to it."
