MARK YATES has hailed his Kidderminster Harriers players as 'superb' after their latest Blue Square Premier victory at Eastbourne, but added that there are still things to be improved.
The league's top scorer Justin Richards grabbed his eighth of the season to open the scoring at Priory Lane, before Brian Smikle added his second in a week to double the lead.
The hosts pulled one back before Andy Ferrell's first of the season made it 3-1, only for another Borough goal to set-up a tense finish.
Reflecting on the game, boss Yates admitted that his side did make harder work of it than was necessary after being in control, but couldn't fault his troops too heavily.
"In the first half we were outstanding; we completely controlled the game and never gave them a kick," he told harriers.co.uk.
"We were creating some real problems for their defenders and their Manager has said they should have been dead and buried at half-time.
"At 2-0 we were comfortable and we ended up conceding two sloppy goals - we gave the ball away in good areas and on both times ended up conceding and that's a bit worrying but we'll have a look at it.
"They came out and had a go at us but we expected it. We should have made it easier on ourselves but I'm not going to moan at the players because they were superb."
The win moved Harriers up to second in the table, three points off leaders Crawley Town.
Next up, it's Barrow at Aggborough Stadium as the in-form side look to keep going their unbeaten home start to 2008/09.
Yates added:"This is a great group of players and there's a great spirit and belief amongst everybody.
"It's a happy dressing room at the moment and we have to keep it that way - they have a great work ethic but they also have great quality, if we can keep those things together then who knows?
"We're doing very well at home and we have to make sure we continue that.
"We'll be working hard on the training ground on a couple of things we need to improve on, but as long as the players keep their feet on the ground and keep believing in themselves without getting cocky, we can achieve what we want to achieve."
