Progress was key for Harriers boss Steve Burr after watching his side go through to the quarter finals of the FA Carlsberg Trophy with victory at Worcester City.
In the first competitive match between the two sides for more than two decades, a battling, scrappy affair was always on the cards and the encounter at St. George's Lane certainly lived up to that billing.
Both teams defended well throughout and it was only one moment of magic that saw Harriers put together the move to win the game as assistant boss John Finnigan played in skipper and goal scorer Chris McPhee.
This game after City had missed some key chances to steal ahead, whilst Harriers were wasteful in their attempts to add to their score.
All things considered, then, it was understandable that in speaking to the press after the victory, Burr was just happy to be in the quarter finals where Harriers will make a second trip in three Saturday's to Oxford United's Kassam Stadium.
"It was a cup tie and a local derby, the first one like this for quite some time," he said.
"It was important for both sides to get a win and I'm just glad we've got through the tie tonight.
"It was a great ball in from John Finnigan [for the goal] and after that I felt we should have wrapped up the tie, we had some really great chances.
"That would have given us a bit of a cushion because they threw men forward towards the end of the game, so it was just a matter of getting through - it was a difficult match.
"I was really pleased with the attitude of the players tonight because it had to be spot on."
