BURR: Boss on 'Tough' Point
There was some good, some bad for Harriers boss Steve Burr at the weekend after he watched his side secure a point on their travels at Oxford United.
Both the visitors and their hosts had good chances to turn one point into three in what was an entertaining but goalless affair.
Harriers defended resolutely and looked deadly on the break at the Kassam Stadium - especially in the first period.
Overall, Burr was happy enough to travel back to Worcestershire with just a share of the spoils but he made it clear that there is still very much on which to improve for his side.
"Obviously you want three points but if you can't then the next best thing is to get the one," he said.
"I just felt a little disappointed today that the final ball and that final pass into the danger area and into the wasn't quite what I would expect.
"But fair play - I thought the lads at the back defended very well today and they all worked really hard. I can't ask for any more than that.
"Overall I'm pleased - It's a tough place to come and get a result.
"We're still in there and we've got a lot of games to play - the players are still getting used to my way of wanting to play and at the minute with what we're doing, it's working reasonably well."
Harriers handed a debut to new signing Marc Goodfellow and also restored Dean Coleman back into the starting line-up, in place of Jasbir Singh between the sticks.
"Jas has done very well for us in the last two games but I just felt coming here that Dean has that little bit more experience at this level," Burr added, of his switch. "I have to admit that his handling was excellent today."
